Goa still reeling under road accidents, fatalities (ToI)

Joaquim Fernandes, TNN Nov 17, 2013, 05.35AM IST PANAJI: As the world observes 'Day of remembrance for road traffic victims' on Sunday, Goa struggles to shake off the tag of "killer state" with 209 killed in 3,505 road accidents till October this year. While statistics may say that road accidents and deaths have shown a downward trend in recent years, what is disturbing is the utter disregard for safe driving and the vehicle coming in the opposite direction. On one hand, vehicle population has grown exponentially in Goa, and rash driving too has gone unpunished.
