Revenue from off-shore casinos good, CM replies (Herald)

October 12, 2013 TEAM HERALD PANJIM: The Goa government has collected revenue of approximately Rs 90 crore as aggregate sum in terms of entertainment and entry tax from five offshore casinos anchored in river Mandovi during the 2012-13 fiscal. This is nearly Rs 11 crore more than the previous year. In a written reply tabled in the House on Friday, Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar informed that while Rs 79.65 crore were collected from the off-shore casinos as entertainment tax, Rs 10.04 crore was the entry fee from visitors.
