26/07/2013 Bad roads, bad governance This is with reference to a recently published news report, wherein the PWD seeks some crores of rupees to complete road projects for Lusofonia Games. I am very surprised with this white elephant proposal. I am sure the IIT Chief Minister will surely grant funds to keep the PWD minister and the engineers happy, because there is always a vicious circle in all tenders. Recently, I travelled from Mapusa to Panaji and was totally shocked to see the road condition from opposite Hotel Majestic to Sai Service in Porvorim. The transport authorities should declare the road as ‘ non- motorable’ road. The road is totally unsafe for any mode of transport. Our car too lost balance and was skidding. Who will the Chief Minister blame for this? The Congress government? During the Congress rule that roads never reached such a state, even during the worst rains.
