Southwest monsoon creeps silently over Goa (ToI)

Southwest monsoon creeps silently over Goa Paul Fernandes, TNN | Jun 4, 2013, 07.08 PM IST PANAJI: The southwest monsoon did not take Goa by storm but rather passed quietly over the state towards Harnai in Maharashtra on Tuesday. "Though it was rather dry, the conditions indicate that the monsoon has already arrived in Goa," an official of the meteorological centre in the city stated. The city did not receive even a trace of rainfall during the whole day up to 5.30pm. The met centre recorded only 5.7mm during the last 24 hours ending Tuesday morning. "A few spells of rain are likely tonight," the official stated. Goa received a total of 35mm of rainfall during the last few days, which is considered normal and helped to bring down the summer heat considerably. http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/city/goa/Southwest-monsoon-creeps-silently-over-Goa/articleshow/20428847.cms
