Candolim locals complain of noise pollution by Supersonic (Herald)

PANJIM: Candolim residents have lodged a police complaint against Supersonic 2013- electronic dance music festival for creating noise nuisance. In his complaint to North SP Priyanka Kashyap, local Francisco D’Souza alleged that the organisers have violated the directives laid down by the Courts.
The organizers of Supersonic “…have violated the conditions stipulated in the order granting permission (under rules) 4 and 5 of the Noise Pollution (Regulation and Control) Rules, 2000 by the sub divisional magistrate, Mapusa and therefore you are requested to prohibit the continuance of music sound or noise by invoking the Rule 8 of the Noise Pollution (Regulation and Control) Rules, 2000,” D’Souza said with other local residents also filing similar complaints with the police.
The complainant has also requested the police to install a noise level monitoring station there to measure the noise level.
