Speaking to TOI, Khandeparkar who is probing the mining scam in Goa said that secure premises are needed to keep important files safely, but till date the government has not provided the requirements. "I have to have secured premises, and then only I can start work," he added The government issued the notification on the official gazette on November 22, 2012. The notification was issued by Prasanna Acharya, director of mines and geology while the committee was allowed a year's time to complete the investigation into the mining scam. Eight months have already passed after the panel was formed. "There is no question of asking the state government for extension for the committee, as the committee has not commenced its work," he said while replying to a question about a possible extension. http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/city/goa/Khandeparkar-mining-panel-has-no-secure-office-remains-idle/articleshow/21705261.cms
