Food Security V/s Whose Security?

Letter To Editor - Herald 09/07/2013 Food for thought Now attempts are being made to demonise the Congress for bypassing Parliament on an important legislation such as the Food Security Bill. What is the solution left in a democracy if blocking progressive laws becomes the order of the day for the opposition just to demonstrate how the UPA has not governed? Suddenly costs in implementing the Food Bill have become a matter for concern. Then what about the costs incurred on freebies like petrol subsidies, Griha Adhar, Laadli Laximi and the rest floated in opposition ruled states?
