Govt plans interactions with select journalists (Herald)

PANJIM: As the World Travel Mart (WTM) commences in London on Monday, Goa tourism department is eyeing Goa’s promotion through a series of interactions with a select group of journalists from various countries across four days of the event.

Prepared to field all safety related questions of foreign visitors in addition to promoting round-the-year attractions within the State, tourism officials will also network with ministers, tour and travel agencies, students and lecturers from 186 countries and regions to market ‘Brand Goa.’
“Goa will be branded as 365-day attractive vacation destination but more specifically, the focus will be on different facets of tourism including weddings in Goa, heritage and cultural tourism, wellness and medical tourism, adventure sports & activities, hinterland and nature besides the forthcoming events and festivals,” Tourism Director Ameya Abhyankar told this reporter before leaving for London.
As per the detailed itinerary, available with Herald, the Goa team also comprising Tourism Minister Dilip Parulekar will brief media of leading channels and publications in London during the exhibition. Meetings with travel bloggers, writers, freelance journalists, tour operators, hoteliers and other stake holders are already prescheduled coupled with local cultural shows at its pavilion.
