[Letter To Editor published in oHerald, 27th June 2014]
The argument of the Goa CM (Herald, 26th June 2014) that the
Mandovi river water is the cleanest because the coliform content is
lower than that in other rivers like Chapora, Mapusa, Valvanti,
Khushawati, Khandepar, Sal and Zuari, sounds more like his
self-certification about Good Governance on grounds that the degree of
corruption in his government is lower than that during the Congress
rule.
Going by the CM’s argument, should we now believe that the absence
of coliform content in water will no more be the criteria for certifying
Goa's water as clean just as the absence of corruption is no more the
criteria for Good Governance in Goa? How long will this CM be able to
fool the people of Goa?
