PONDA: South Goa BJP candidate Adv Narendra Savoiker stated that the appeals by any institution or religious person to vote against any party or any candidate will not have impact on the voters, as they have freedom and can independently think and exercise their right freely.
Adv Savoiker was speaking to media after seeking blessing of Katamgal Dada (Devchar) at Farmagudi-Ponda on Sunday. He was accompanied by his wife Megna, Ponda Municipal Council (PMC) Deputy Chairperson Shantaram Colvekar, Councillor Vishawanath Dalvi and other party workers.
Speaking further, Adv Savoiker said the voters know what is right and wrong for Goa and choice of voting is democratic right given by the constitution.
When asked whether BJP will benefit due to the differences between the Congress candidate and the rebel Congress leader who resigned and decided to contest independently, Adv Savoiker said it will be seen only after election result. “Presently, I don’t think it is right to comment what will be the impact. We have only focussed to reach out to maximum voters,” he added.
Asked which candidate will give tough fight to him, Adv Savoiker said: “All are powerful and I respect all who have entered in the election fray, as in democracy all have the right to contest.”
“BJP in Goa under Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar is doing well and lot of development works are put in place in South Goa besides launching schemes for common man during the last two years, which will ensure the victory for BJP in both the Lok Sabha seats in Goa.”
“Corruption, price rise, inflation will affect prospects of the Congress in the upcoming polls. Congress has blocked development work in Goa and is giving step-motherly treatment to the BJP government.”
“The Centre has failed to give attention to the woes of the people affected by mining ban in Goa,” he added.
