Sectarian mindset (soter)

Letter published in Herald, 4th october 2013 Sectarian mindset The attempts to stage the controversial play 'Me Naturam Godse Boltoy' in Margao (Herald, Oct. 2) reveals the extent to which government and semi-government agencies have been infected with sectarian mindsets. One can bet that if the promoters of some play, say "Me Gandhiji Boltoy", had to approach Ravindra Bhavan for free use of their premises on Gandhi Jayanti all sorts of hurdles would have been placed. The most convenient reason given would be, "we can give you no guarantee because the Government may require the hall on such days, or else get a letter from the Government." The fact that the Ravindra Bhavan premises was given free of cost to the promoters of such a controversial anti-Gandhi play and that too on Gandhi Jayanti, is enough proof of the values and mindset of the management of Ravindra Bhavan and the extent to which they are using government infrastructure to promote sectarian ideologies.
