Save Goa’s rich legacies: Guv August 20, 2013 TEAM HERALD MARGAO: Governor Bharat Vir Wanchoo on Monday underlined the need to preserve for posterity Goa’s rich, fascinating and unique social, cultural, religious, artistic and architectural legacies. Speaking at a function after inaugurating the photo festival and exhibition organised by Goan Shutterbugs at the Ravindra Bhavan here this evening, the governor said, “This glorious heritage has to be nursed and nourished carefully with a positive vision. Like any form of art, photography is a medium which can preserve our history.” He said through the medium of photography, it should be possible to help in preserving these valuable aspects of Goan life and society. “Promotion of photography, to my mind, must lead to integration of thought and actions in order to serve a larger social cause, “ he said. The Governor felicitated veteran photographers Ramesh Sakhalkar and Thomas Vaz on the occasion.
