PANAJI: The Captain of Ports (CoP) wants to make up for its loss of revenue by throwing open its facilities for coal import. The CoP's revenue crashed to Rs 11.5 crore this season (till date) as against its earnings of Rs 40 crore during the last season, due to the ban on mining by the Supreme Court in September 2012.
The CoP is currently, working on logistics to facilitate the import of coal from the Panaji port which was earlier monopolized by ore vessels.
